Realise your potential with RRC Training
Visitors to the RRC Training stand at IOSH 2012 can expect an entertaining experience that will demonstrate the company’s professional knowledge and experience, alongside samples of their highly successful materials and courses, which have helped thousands develop their careers over many years.
Amongst the wealth of information available on the stand (F23), RRC will be running its popular ‘Spot the Hazard’ game, giving all visitors the chance to win £500 in training vouchers each day. The computer-based game tests players’ health and safety knowledge - as well as their skills with the mouse - challenging them to clock-up the fastest time.
There will also be the opportunity to attend free advice clinics and discussions on the latest developments in e-learning and other forms of online training run by RRC’s health, safety and environment specialists - one visitor each day will receive £1000 worth of training!
On the stand you’ll find leaflets which offer visitors access to an absolutely free RRC Risk Assessment Online Course, giving a comprehensive introduction to the risk assessment process, plus an exhibition special offer of 30% off RRC’s NEBOSH General Certificate Courses in Birmingham, Chorley and Newcastle.
The icing on the cake is the opportunity to meet Dr T (aka Dr David Towlson) who will be on RRC’s stand (F23), along with RRC’s North West team; Gordon Pimperton and Rowena Jackson, supported by Managing Director Gary Fallaize and Elizabeth Lennox from RRC’s Scottish Office. Dr T is RRC's Director of Training, NEBOSH examiner and all round HSE guru. Click here to catch up on Dr T's Blog.
Gary Fallaize commented: “We’re looking forward to welcoming as many visitors as possible this year. We’ll be on-hand to offer advice for individuals looking to further their career in the HSEQ industry, as well as providing guidance for those looking to develop an effective training programme for their staff. We want everyone to develop and realise their full potential, for work and for themselves.”

RRC Launches Three Fresh New International Websites Offering Super-fast Access to Learning
RRC have simultaneously introduced three brand new websites, tailored to support their international centres in the UK, Bahrain and Dubai. The websites have been specifically designed to reflect the expanding needs of the company and its clients in both the UK and the Middle East and will simplify access for users from each country.
The product of many months of development, the websites contain vital, accessible and user-friendly information relating to all RRC’s courses and services, from IOSH to NEBOSH, in each particular region.
Highlights of the sites include the innovative News section, regularly updated with stories relevant to RRC’s students and safety practitioners and providing all the current news and information they need to keep themselves up-to-date.
The News section also contains RRC’s quarterly Newsletters and the now infamous Blog from Dr T (aka David Towlson), RRC's Director of Training, NEBOSH examiner and all round HSE guru. Check him out at /blogs/
Dr T also features in the complete series of RRC’s legendary Podcasts. And there is a rumour that new scripts are being developed for recording later this year – watch this space.
The Free Resources section is packed with free downloads including Technical Updates on topics such as The Dark Side of Tanning: Regulation on the Use of Sunbeds and PAS 1010: Guidance on the Management of Psychosocial Risks in the Workplace.
Sample materials can also be downloaded for all RRC’s courses, including a free trial of the highly-acclaimed e-learning courses.
RRC’s Managing Director Gary Fallaize commented: “These websites are definitely worth keeping a close eye on, as new content is being added all the time. The new sites will play a valuable role in supporting our global students and clients by giving them all the information they need in one place as they progress in their chosen careers. We are very excited about their launch.”

RRC in Bahrain
The first course for supervisors in Bahrain has just been successfully completed by 13 first-line supervisors from Gulf Petrochemical Industrial Complex (GPIC).
The safety practitioner course, run by RRC Middle East, trained supervisors from all disciplines within GPIC to enable them to understand and practise their responsibilities as required by Bahrain Labour Law and the company’s internal health and safety management system.
Hasan Alaradi, MD of RRC Middle East, explained: “A culture of ‘not my responsibility’ towards health and safety was obvious among line supervisors, even though they had the best policies and procedures in place. Supervisors needed to become more active and have a key role in the implementation of these policies and procedures.”
The course, which incorporated the NEBOSH Award in Health and Safety at Work syllabus, included classroom theory combined with practical accident investigation and risk assessment exercises.
