The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005

New fire safety legislation came into force on 1 October 2006 abolishing fire certificates and shifting responsibility for fire safety away from the fire service to rest clearly with employers, managers and other persons in control of premises.

Where once they would have relied on the fire service to carry out a fire safety assessment, managers now have to assess and manage fire risk themselves.

This guide sets out the requirements of the new legislation and explains how to deal with them.
